As we are now into the Fall months and soon to be winter months it is important to remember to get your yearly flu vaccine.

Who should get the flu vaccine?

It is recommended that all ages 6 months and up receive the flu vaccine each year.
When should I get the vaccine?

It is recommended you start receiving the flu vaccine in early Fall thus being during the September and October months.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC recommends receiving the flu vaccine by the end of October.

It is important to note that once you receive the flu vaccine it can take up to 2 weeks before immunity is set in

Are the vaccines in yet?

Yes!!  We received our first shipment of vaccines in early September.  If you received your vaccine late in the season last year you still need to get a new vaccine this year as each year’s vaccine is based on what flu strain was relevant the year before.
