There are 3 major diagnoses you can have in regard to your thyroid.

Most commonly it is hypothyroidism.  This is your thyroid showing a deficiency. Symptoms include: Fatigue, unexplained weight gain, cold intolerance, dry skin, hair loss, tiredness, brain fog, forgetfulness, and menstrual disturbances etc.

Then you have Hyperthyroidism.  This is your thyroid showing an abundance of thyroid hormone. Symptoms include: nervousness, anxiety, increased sweating, heat intolerance, heart palpitations, or unexplained weight loss.

Thirdly we have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.  This is an autoimmune thyroid disease – meaning your thyroid is attacking itself and not working properly.  This will most often show as the same symptoms as hypothyroidism without the common lab results to back up that diagnosis.

If you have been struggling with these symptoms and haven’t gotten the answers to help them resolve it would be worth looking into your thyroid a little further.  There are naturally derived pills to treat the thyroid as well as synthetically derived pills.  Make an appointment with us here at 45 Urgent Care in Jackson, TN to discuss your symptoms and get a comprehensive blood screening.
